  21. I would like to add that Bob Brodie is no longer (just) tentatively
  22. scheduled to attend - he confirmed in conference on Delphi last week
  23. that _he will be there_.   (I also asked him what he will be showing:
  24. he said: Portfolio, Stacy, STE, but probably not TT.  Maybe he will be
  25. able to bring one anyway - but TT or not, the SwapFest should be interesting.
  26. One more thing - Bob Brodie is scheduled to give a presentation (talk?) at
  27. 10:30 am and again at 1:30 pm, according to the latest news I've seen.

  48.                 I think I isolated the bug created by sbreak...  Maybe you
  49.         did too, but it has to do with the mouse being moved after a graf_
  50.         mouse(M_OFF,0) instruction is called.  Somehow when the mouse is
  51.         turned back on, the mask is not drawn at it's new location, but
  52.         at the old one (had the mouse stayed in place after a M_OFF).

  72. It is possible - and pretty cheap - to connect an OMTI controller for
  73. the XT to the DMA Port.

  75. But it's incompatible to everything: the DMA Port is blocked by this
  76. thing, and it needs a special driver to run which is availeble only for
  77. TOS (rumor has it that a minix-ST version is availeble too; rumor has
  78. it, that rumor is just rumor...)

  80. Well, if You can afford it: go for SCSI: SCSI devices will be usable in
  81. the future, the SCSI host adaptors for the ST are more or less
  82. compatible to the SHxxxes etc.

  122. So far it's holding up.  But I am having intermittent video glitches
  123. that may or may not be related to the clip.

  125. I agree with you, the clip looks extremely lo-tech.  I was expecting
  126. something that really cliped on, not just slipped over the pins.

  128. I *really* put a lot of pressure on the clip's pins to bend them in
  129. (before I put it on the 68000, of course).  My first few attempt didn't
  130. work.  The hard part is bending the pins evenly so they all apply the
  131. same pressure.

  168. I have spent many hours trying to get the thing working, often ending
  169. up by being *certain* that something other than the clip was at fault.
  170.  
  171. The trick is to bend the pins on the clip well inwards and then make
  172. certain that the two rows are *dead straight*. A single pin out of
  173. alignment and it will not work at all.

  175. Once you have done this it will stay clipped on and (in my case), working
  176. through fairly rough handling.

  194. like "TECH:" in the subject line.  Or perhaps in the Summary line.
  195. Or hey put it in the keyword line!

  198. the non-TECH: articles.  Perhaps there is a better way.

  226. One of the main reasons for splitting up the group is so that the
  227. people who are interested in just tech discussions (and there seem
  228. to be quite a few) won't have to wade through the other stuff.  If we
  229. just use a keyword, then

  231.         1) newcomers won't know about it
  232.         2) people will eventually forget
  233.  
  234. and we'll be back to where we started.

  236. The way you would eliminate non-tech articles with the new group in
  237. place would be to not read comp.sys.atari.st (general), but only
  238. read comp.sys.atari.st.tech.
